National media reveals illegal substances used to enhance the appearance and durability of the berries

Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and Jingyuan county in Gansu province announced on Monday that they have established dedicated teams to probe into the matter.

"The findings of the investigation and the management of the case will be disclosed to the public promptly," stated the officials in Golmud.

"Individuals accountable for the violations will face strict penalties as mandated by law."

The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
