National media discloses illegal use of substances to enhance the appearance and longevity of the berries
Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and Jingyuan county in Gansu province announced on Monday the establishment of specialized task forces dedicated to probing the matter.
"Golmud officials stated that the findings of the investigation and the handling of the case will be disclosed to the public promptly."
"Individuals accountable for the violations will face strict penalties in accordance with the law."
The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
