Chinese authorities launch probes into alleged tainted goji berries

National media reveals the suspected utilization of unauthorized substances to enhance the appearance and durability of the berries

Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and Jingyuan county in Gansu province announced on Monday that special investigative teams have been established to look into the matter.

Golmud officials stated that they will release information about the investigation results and the case management promptly.

"Authorities will impose strict penalties on those found guilty of the crimes, in accordance with the law."

The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
