Chinese Food Delivery Titan Meituan Expands to Saudi Arabia with Keeta App Launch
The Chinese meal delivery powerhouse, Meituan, expands globally by launching its Keeta app in Saudi Arabia. The company, headquartered in Beijing, has initially launched its food ordering app, Keeta, in Al-Kharj, with plans to debut it in the capital city, Riyadh, soon.
On Monday, Meituan, a company based in Beijing, rolled out its food ordering and delivery service in Al-Kharj, a key city in the Gulf region, as per an announcement within the app. It also seems that the service is gearing up for a launch in Riyadh, the largest city and capital of Saudi Arabia, as indicated by the profile details of its confirmed account on X.
A spokesperson from Meituan verified that Keeta has initiated a pilot run in Al-Kharj.
In an effort to draw in new patrons and establish a presence in the marketplace, Keeta is providing complimentary shipping for purchases amounting to 25 riyals (equivalent to US$6.66), and close to 70 percent price cuts on specific combination meals. Deliveries are typically made within half an hour. The app also allows customers to collect their orders directly from the restaurants.
