Chinese AI Powerhouse MiniMax Unveils Video-01: A Text-to-Video Generation Model to Challenge OpenAI’s Sora

The Chinese AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled its text-to-video creation model in competition with OpenAI's Sora. The initial version of their tool, named Video-01, resembles Sora, and upcoming updates are anticipated to provide users with the capability to create videos from pictures.

Video-01 allows a user to input a written description to produce a video that can last up to six seconds. The entire procedure, from entering the text to creating the video, takes approximately two minutes.

Yan Junjie, the CEO and founder of MiniMax, announced at the event that video-01 is the initial version of the company's video creation tool. According to regional news sources, he highlighted that upcoming enhancements will allow users to create videos from pictures and edit them.
