Chinese AI Powerhouse MiniMax Challenges OpenAI with Video-01: A Text-to-Video Innovation Set to Revolutionize Content Creation
Chinese AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has unveiled a text-to-video generation model, set to compete with OpenAI's Sora. The company's initial version, dubbed Video-01, bears a resemblance to Sora, with upcoming enhancements anticipated to allow users to create videos using images.
Video-01 allows a user to enter a text description to produce a video that can last up to six seconds. The procedure of generating a video from the text cue takes approximately two minutes.
Yan Junjie, the CEO and founder of MiniMax, announced at the event that video-01 is the initial version of their video-creation software. He mentioned that upcoming revisions will allow users to create videos from pictures and have the ability to edit them, as per local news coverage.
