Chinese AI Pioneer MiniMax Challenges OpenAI with Text-to-Video Generating Model ‘Video-01’: Future Updates to Enable Video Generation from Images
MiniMax, a Chinese AI powerhouse, has debuted a text-to-video creation model, positioning it as a competitor to OpenAI's Sora. Video-01, the initial version of the company's tool akin to Sora, anticipates future enhancements that will allow users to produce videos from photos.
Video-01 allows a user to enter a text description in order to generate a video that can last up to six seconds. The entire procedure, from providing the text cue to producing the video, takes roughly two minutes.
Yan Junjie, the CEO and founder of MiniMax, announced at the event that video-01 is the company's initial version of their video-creation software. According to local news sources, he emphasized that forthcoming improvements will allow users to create videos from photos and to modify these videos.
