China’s AI Giant MiniMax Unveils Video-01: A Text-to-Video Tool Set to Rival OpenAI’s Sora
The Chinese AI powerhouse, MiniMax, has introduced a text-to-video creation model, aiming to compete with OpenAI's Sora. Video-01, the company's initial version of the tool, is similar to Sora, and forthcoming enhancements are anticipated to allow users to produce videos from pictures.
Video-01 allows a user to enter a text description to generate a video that can last up to six seconds. The entire procedure, from providing the text cue to creating the video, takes approximately two minutes.
Yan Junjie, the CEO and founder of MiniMax, announced at the event that video-01 is the company's initial version of their video creation tool. He highlighted that upcoming enhancements will allow users to produce videos from pictures and also edit these videos, as per regional news coverage.
