China Launches National Database for Migrant Children to Bolster Welfare and Health by 2035
China plans to create a database for migrant children to enhance their welfare and services
The national strategy aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by these children, especially those who are disabled or lack guardians.
On Wednesday, Guo Yuqiang, who heads the Department of Child Welfare at the Ministry of Civil Affairs, stated that the central government's goal is to compile an accurate registry of children requiring assistance by the year 2026.
It also sought to achieve clear outcomes in safeguarding the mental and physical well-being of these children by the year 2035.
Gao stated that the central government has established a national action plan aimed at safeguarding migrant children, marking the first initiative of this nature in China.
