Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and Jingyuan county in Gansu province announced on Monday that they have established dedicated task forces to probe into the matter.
"Authorities in Golmud have stated that they will release information about the investigation and the management of the case promptly."
"Authorities will impose strict penalties on those found guilty of the crimes, in accordance with the law."
The food safety committee in Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
