Yet, during this weekend’s F1 Monaco Grand Prix, Autosport has revealed that Williams is now a strong potential team to attract Sainz.

Williams has successfully ensured the continuation of their lead driver, Alex Albon, so bringing on Sainz would represent a significant triumph.

The collaboration between Williams and Mercedes on engine development is perceived as an enticing incentive offered by the Formula 1 team.

Speculation among the racing community indicates that Mercedes' power unit, designed to meet the 2026 rules, is expected to be highly efficient, with Williams, a customer team, poised to gain advantages from this development.

The choices previously considered available for Sainz are becoming increasingly limited.

He remains a potential candidate for a move to Sauber in 2025, ahead of the team's transition to Audi the following year.
