Canamasas Rejoins Carlin for Spa-Francorchamps GP2 Showdown
Canamasas Rejoins Carlin for Spa-Francorchamps GP2 Event
Sergio Canamasas is set to return to the GP2 Series this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, reuniting with the Carlin team for the eighth double-header of the 2016 season.
Considered one of the most seasoned drivers in the competition, the Spanish racer secured fifth place at the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix in May and achieved sixth place during the series' debut in Azerbaijan. Additionally, he has accumulated seven other top-ten finishes in various rounds.
"I'm thrilled to be back in the GP2 Series," Canamasas stated. "It's great to be driving for Carlin once more because switching teams mid-season doesn't seem wise to me. At Spa, having a strong race set-up and good pace is more crucial than qualifying. The weather forecast predicts sunny conditions throughout the weekend, and as long as there are no unexpected events, I am confident in my ability to be competitive in the Ardennes."
