Cal Crutchlow Withdraws from Mugello MotoGP Wild-Card Entry
Issues arising after surgery to alleviate pain in his right hand have led to Cal Crutchlow being unable to participate in the 2024 Italian MotoGP.
Yamaha announced that Cal Crutchlow will not participate as a wild-card entry in the forthcoming Italian MotoGP.
The Mugello circuit, scheduled for May 31 to June 2, was set to be the initial one out of three definite MotoGP races in 2024 for the official test rider and three-time grand prix champion.
Yamaha has made an announcement on social media, stating that Crutchlow will not be participating as a wild card in the Italian GP.
This year, the designated test rider experienced discomfort in his right hand, leading to a surgical operation to address the issue.
"Nonetheless, obstacles prevent his participation in the Italian Grand Prix."
Crutchlow is scheduled to compete in the British MotoGP at Silverstone in early August, as well as the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano in September, which, similarly to Mugello, will be followed by a test session on Monday.
