Britische Rennsport-Revolution auf der Straße: Der Ginetta Akula 2025 – Exklusivität hat ihren Preis
Ginetta Akula (2025): A New Supercar from the Realm
This low-profile British car brings the thrill of racing to the streets but comes with a hefty price tag
Ginetta might not be a household name in the automotive world, at least not outside of racing circles. Those familiar with motorsports might recognize the brand from the annual 24H of Dubai race, where the sleek racers with their elongated fronts and powerful V8 engines compete. Despite its relative obscurity, Ginetta is a serious contender in the boutique sports car market, a fact that is cemented with the introduction of their new supercar, the Akula.
The Ginetta Akula is a new, high-end, road-legal supercar crafted by the renowned British sports car manufacturer, Ginetta. Taking inspiration from a concept vehicle unveiled in 2019, the Akula celebrates the 20th anniversary of Dr. Lawrence Tomlinson's acquisition of Ginetta. Priced from £275,000, which translates to approximately 326,000 Euros, and with a production run restricted to just 20 units, the Akula stands out as a genuine collector's gem.
The latest high-performance sports car is equipped with a 6.4-liter V8 engine that produces 600 horsepower at 7,200 RPM and 670 Newton-meters of torque at 5,100 RPM. This power enables the car to accelerate from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.9 seconds and achieve a top speed in excess of 290 kilometers per hour. The engine is crafted from a Ginetta solid aluminum block and features a titanium valve train designed to ensure durability and high performance.
One standout feature of the Akula is its chassis, which is made entirely of carbon fiber, complemented by a steel racing roll cage. Weighing in at just 1,190 kg and boasting an ideal 50:50 weight distribution, the Akula vehicle delivers impeccable balance and precise handling.
The vehicle's design, which was evaluated in a wind tunnel, includes a carbon fiber flat underbody, a front splitter, side baffles, a rear wing, and a diffuser. These elements are intended to work in unison to provide significant downforce and ensure stable speeds when navigating curves.
The Akula isn't just designed for track racing efficiency but is also built to be practical for everyday use. It comes equipped with a 100-liter fuel tank that can cover roughly 720 kilometers, and a 473-liter boot space, ample enough for the luggage of two people, making it suitable for extended journeys and road trips.
The seats are built into the carbon fiber monocoque frame and are custom cushioned to conform flawlessly to the driver's body shape. An electronically adjustable steering wheel and pedals allow the driver to modify the seating position to their preference.
The Akula also comes equipped with contemporary features such as a touchscreen infotainment system designed by Ginetta, complete with full iOS compatibility, a heated windshield, cup holders, and wireless phone charging capabilities. The interior is enhanced with the luxurious touch of CNC-machined aluminum details and carbon fiber accents.
