**Brad Binder’s Rolling Burnouts and Jack Miller’s Near Miss: Highlights from Aragon MotoGP**
Brad Binder exclaimed, "I ended up doing another rolling burnout!" Meanwhile, Jack Miller shared that he was "nipped by Rins." Binder added, "I had a solid strategy last night to avoid spinning off at the start…"
Brad Binder had his best MotoGP weekend since the season started in Qatar, finishing in 4th and 6th place at the Aragon race.
Even though he veered off course at the start of both races, he still managed to secure seventh place, which was on the less messy side of the grid.
Binder trailed rookie Pedro Acosta during the middle portion of the race. This pursuit turned into a contest for third place when Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia collided with 5 laps remaining.
However, Acosta remained just beyond grasp.
Binder smiled as he recounted his strategy from the previous night, saying he aimed to avoid losing control at the start and managed to perform a rolling burnout just like he did the day before.
"I was able to navigate through and overtake several competitors. It was challenging to avoid errors as the front tire was overheating while trailing others up until the final quarter of the race."
In an attempt to compensate for my slow corner entries caused by the front tire overheating, I pushed harder on the exits. Unfortunately, this strategy backfired, as I ultimately wore out the left side of the tire.
"I did everything I could to overtake Pedro, but I had no power left from behind!"
"Besides that, we took several encouraging strides this weekend. We experimented with the bike's balance, and it appeared to be effective over the course of the race."
Teammate Jack Miller made a powerful start, advancing from 15th place on the grid to 8th by the conclusion of the first lap. However, the Australian quickly joined others in experiencing difficulties with rear tire grip.
After Alex Rins overtook him for ninth place on the final lap, he became one of three riders penalized with an additional 16 seconds for post-race tyre pressure violations, ultimately placing him in 15th position.
"It was a lengthy race," Miller remarked. "The track conditions varied once more; it has been unclean for most of the weekend but felt more slippery today."
"I gave it my all. It was tough to manage the [medium] rear tire, and I experienced a significant highside incident exiting the final turn."
"I found my groove and focused on maintaining it. There were several challenges when moving from the tire's edge to its center… but I managed to finish successfully."
"There were no errors during the race, but I had a hard time keeping up with the guys ahead of me. We'll continue to work hard."
"I'm pleased to have finished in the top ten, but Rins managed to edge past me on the final lap's back straight. I was striving to be as accurate as possible, but I lost speed and he was able to overtake me."
“We will return to Misano.”
Test rider Pol Espargaro will join the KTM team this weekend, increasing their total number of riders to five.
“Next, we head to Misano with an eye on the subsequent test and Pol’s wildcard entry, which will provide us with valuable insights for the future,” stated team manager Francesco Guidotti.
The opening round of the Misano MotoGP will see Binder trailing Acosta by three points, with Acosta currently in fifth place in the world championship standings.
Miller, who may be formally announced as a Pramac Yamaha rider at the team's home races in Italy, currently sits in 15th place, just three points behind Monster Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo.
