Lamborghini Unveils Revuelto Opera Unica: 475 Hours Dedicated to Paintwork
The unique shade of blue reflects the coastal vistas of Sardinia
The Italian song "Volare", originally titled "Nel blu dipinto di blu" meaning "Painted in Blue on Blue", is likely a tune familiar to many. It seems Lamborghini has now adopted a similar theme. The luxury car manufacturer has revealed a supercar drenched in a deep blue hue, which required an impressive 475 hours to perfect the paint job – that's roughly 20 full days of work.
Lamborghini unveils the Opera Unica: a distinctive Revuelto crafted by the customization division Ad Personam in collaboration with Lamborghini's design center, Centro Stile, designed to mirror the signature blue hues and coastal scenery of the Italian island, Sardinia.

"Our clientele has the luxury of personalizing their Lamborghini with Ad Personam by selecting colors, specific details, a variety of materials, embroidery, and finishes for both the interior and exterior to construct a vehicle that truly reflects their individuality: This Opera Unica takes our inventive spirit to the next level.
He showcases painting techniques and interior designs that are exclusive to the Opera-Unica one-of-a-kinds. This led to the creation of a truly unique masterpiece that reflects the distinctive seascape and the emotions of Italy's most beautiful island," says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini.
In addition to the standard production time for a Lamborghini Revuelto, the exterior paint job required an additional 475 hours of specialized manual labor. To accomplish the Opera-Unica design, the car's body was meticulously masked to set the stage for the paintwork: Subtle two-tone and three-tone color gradients were then accentuated by hand painting, reminiscent of waves crashing against cliffs.

Using specialized coating methods, elements such as the start/stop button cover and the nameplate were customized. The embroidery within the interior alone took 85 hours to produce the new tool needed for the water-like stitching effect that is exclusive to this Opera Unica.
Three distinct shades of blue were skillfully blended using Lamborghini's artisanal techniques involving brushes and palette knives to create unique effects exclusive to the Opera Unica. The varying blue hues, influenced by the crystal-clear waters of the Sardinian sea, bubbles, waves, and the deep blue of marine caverns, are utilized across the surfaces of the Revuelto.

The distinct separations between the various shades highlight the captivating contours and edges of the vehicle. The light Blu Tawaret serves as the base color on the front body parts and the roof, contrasting with the bolder Blu Cepheus, which is applied for a gradient effect and on the rear. A third shade, Blu Okeanos, is utilized to create an even more pronounced gradient effect on the hood and around the front splitter.
The car features a striking contrast with its Nera Bocca black hue, complemented by glossy carbon splitters and side skirts, along with shiny black Altanero wheels that have a diamond-cut finish and are paired with black carbon-ceramic brakes. The paintwork, applied with a dragging brush and palette knife technique, creates waves of three different shades of blue that flow from the front to the sides and rear of the vehicle. This design is reminiscent of the sparkling turquoise that appears in the sea's refracted light over sand and rocks.

The interior designed to match features Blu Delphinus as its primary color. Complementing this are the lighter shade of Blu Amon on the seatbacks, door panels, and center console, along with contrasting stitches and piping in the white hue of Bianco Leda. The upholstery on the seats, door panels, driveshaft tunnel, and headliner showcases an innovation in embroidery techniques for the Revuelto, with a custom-made tool allowing for triple-tone stitching in Blu Amon, Blu Chepeus, and Bianco Leda.

The vibrant hues of Sardinian waters are brought to mind with these features. This visual impact is echoed on the unique carbon plate of the Opera-Unica in the shade of Blu Mira, which adorns the back wall of the interior, as well as on the cover of the start/stop button located on the center console.
According to its creators, the Revuelto stands as the inaugural V12 hybrid plug-in supercar under the category of High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV). Its formidable power output of 1,015 horsepower is the result of a synergy between a brand new combustion engine and three electric motors. These motors are paired with a dual-clutch transmission that's being used in a Lamborghini twelve-cylinder model for the first time. The outcome is a staggering acceleration capability, going from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.5 seconds, and can reach speeds exceeding 350 km/h.
