Bagnaia Battling Neck and Shoulder Pain After Aragon Clash with Marquez
Francesco Bagnaia is experiencing significant discomfort in his neck and shoulder following his collision with Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP event.
Francesco Bagnaia has shared insights into the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during the previous weekend's Aragon MotoGP event.
Marquez and Bagnaia collided when Marquez veered off course at the twelfth turn during the eighteenth lap of the Grand Prix. Having begun the race in third position but fallen to seventh due to a weak start, Bagnaia was climbing his way up through the field and appeared on track to claim the last podium spot from Marquez.
The Italian attempted to capitalize on Marquez's mistake at turn 12 by making a move at turn 13, just a few hundred metres later. However, their collision resulted in both racers being eliminated from the competition.
Specifically, Bagnaia experienced a challenging tumble beneath Marquez's motorcycle and subsequently visited the medical center.
In a post-race interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon Grand Prix, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain," but also noted, "it could have been a lot worse, so I'm alright."

In a message shared on his Instagram story regarding the accident, Bagnaia mentioned he was experiencing discomfort in his left shoulder.
"Bagnaia's statement expressed his actions by stating he capitalized on Alex [Marquez] overshooting his turn to move past him, and then intentionally took a broader approach into the forthcoming turn aware of another competitor's presence. He lamented the outcome, noting the weekend had already presented challenges."
Following a challenging beginning, attributed to the difficult circumstances at that particular position on the track, I was in the process of making a significant recovery and had increased my speed considerably. At the moment, I am experiencing considerable discomfort, mainly in my left shoulder, but fortunately, it appears that nothing is fractured.
"We'll strive to be in top condition for Misano."
As the San Marino Grand Prix approaches this weekend, Bagnaia faces a tight four-day timeline to regain his physical condition before the commencement of practice sessions for his local race. This scenario mirrors the experience he had last year when, after taking a fall at the Catalan Grand Prix, he showed up at Misano nursing injuries to his leg.
Last year, despite suffering from injuries, Bagnaia managed to secure a third-place finish in both the Sprint and Grand Prix. However, the impact of his Aragon mishap in Misano on his performance will remain uncertain until the practice sessions begin on Friday morning.
