Uber has introduced a $250 million “driver stimulus” package deal that will increase earnings for brand spanking new and returning drivers. For instance, an Uber driver can now earn $1,100 for finishing 115 journeys in Austin. Uber says the plan is “probably a short lived state of affairs,” as earnings will return to pre-Covid ranges when extra drivers hit the highway. Lyft, then again, is providing as much as $800 in bonuses for referring former drivers again onto the app.

“In 2020, many drivers stopped driving as a result of they could not depend on getting sufficient journeys to make it value their time. In 2021, there are extra riders requesting journeys than there are drivers obtainable to offer them, making it a good time to be a driver,” stated Dennis Cinelli, Uber Vice President Mobility within the US and Canada, in a weblog submit.
