Aston Martin Dismisses Adrian Newey Rumours Amidst Swirling F1 Speculation
Aston Martin has refuted the recent rumors suggesting that Adrian Newey has joined their team, dismissing the possibility of an imminent announcement.
Aston Martin has refuted claims that they have secured a deal with Adrian Newey and stated that no announcement is forthcoming.
According to an article in the Daily Mail, there might be an imminent announcement regarding Newey potentially moving to Aston Martin.
The story mentioned earlier indicates that Newey will receive an impressive annual salary of £20 million at Aston Martin.
Since the announcement of Newey's exit from Red Bull before the Miami Grand Prix, there has been a lot of speculation about what he will do next.
He is considered one of the best car designers in the history of Formula 1, having played a key role in championship wins for both McLaren and Red Bull.
A representative from Aston Martin informed Crash.net that Adrian has been associated with several teams and would bring significant benefits to any project he chooses to be part of.
"While he is among the notable figures associated with this thrilling Aston Martin initiative, there are currently no updates to share."
Rumors are swirling about when Newey will make his next move in F1. Sky commentator David Croft hinted during the Italian Grand Prix weekend that an announcement might be coming this week.
During Sky's FP3 broadcast, Croft mentioned, "We could get news regarding Adrian Newey's future next week."
Newey has been strongly associated with several teams, such as Ferrari, McLaren, and Williams.
McLaren and Williams have openly dismissed the possibility of hiring Newey, whereas Ferrari was initially believed to be the frontrunner in securing his services.
It seems that Lawrence Stroll's thrilling Aston Martin venture has managed to attract Newey's interest.
Stroll has poured significant resources into upgrading Aston Martin's Silverstone site, establishing a cutting-edge headquarters and bringing on board several of the leading engineers in Formula 1.
Joining Aston Martin would enable the 65-year-old to stay in the UK, avoiding a move to Italy, which he has previously been hesitant about.
Aston Martin racer Fernando Alonso spoke about the rumors during the Monza event.
He stated, "Currently, there are just speculations, and I believe that resolving the issues isn't a task for just one person."
"It's about focusing on our current situation and output. We need to identify what's progressing well, what isn't, and aim to better prepare for 2025."
