Lowes and Espargaro unveil eye-catching new Aprilia design
Latest images and statements released.
The new 2017 MotoGP liveries for Aleix Espargaro and Sam Lowes were unveiled right before a launch event at the factory in Noale, Italy.
The latest design, created by Aldo Drudi, enhances last season's patriotic theme by swapping the former silver on the lower parts of the fairing with a vibrant blend of Italy's green, white, and red.

With Espargaro entering his seventh season in MotoGP and having experience with five different bike brands, he is primarily focused on developing the new RS-GP. Meanwhile, Lowes is accumulating miles on the previous year's model.
The Spanish rider recorded the 13th quickest lap time at Sepang, trailing by 0.740 seconds, and achieved the 10th fastest lap at Phillip Island, with a gap of 0.812 seconds. Additionally, he showcased an impressive extended run and briefly introduced Aprilia's winglet fairing to the public.
Espargaro expressed his pleasure at the formal kickoff of a new project, stating his strong belief in Aprilia Racing and the efforts of the team. He predicted that the upcoming season would be successful.
"We have plenty of areas that need improvement, but there's no doubt that we've made a positive start. Now, we just need to compete in the first race in Qatar to gauge our performance against our competitors."

Although that performance only secured 21st place on the closely contested timesheets, Lowes stands out as the sole rider who hasn't yet tested with his 2017 race bike. His first opportunity to do so is expected to be during the final test in Qatar, scheduled for March 10-12.
"Initially, I am thrilled to join this close-knit group that has a deep connection to racing and a celebrated history of achievements, such as Aprilia Racing," Lowes remarked. "I'm eagerly anticipating my return to the track in Qatar."
"I believe I managed to showcase around 85% of our capabilities during the winter tests. Starting with the first race, I aim to establish a solid foundation that we can gradually enhance, leading up to Valencia."
"We're immediately targeting the points zone and then setting our goals on reaching the Top Ten and competing for key MotoGP positions. I have confidence in myself and in the capabilities of my bike and team."
Last season, Aprilia achieved their highest race finish of seventh place on three occasions: in Argentina with rider Bradl, and in Japan and Malaysia with rider Bautista.
"Roberto Colaninno, the CEO and Managing Director of Piaggio Group, stated that last year they unveiled the RS-GP, which is the first MotoGP motorcycle fully developed and constructed in Noale. He mentioned that during the latter part of the season, this new bike demonstrated significant improvement by regularly securing positions in the Top-Ten."
"This year, our aim is to maintain our growth momentum and challenge long-established manufacturers in this category. We possess all the necessary resources to reach this objective: skilled personnel, advanced technology, extensive experience, and immense passion."
