**”Alex Marquez Refutes Deliberate Crash Accusations After Aragon MotoGP Incident with Francesco Bagnaia”**
Alex Marquez denies: "I would never intentionally collide with another rider"
Alex Marquez dismisses claims that he 'intentionally' collided with Francesco Bagnaia, stating: 'That behavior is not part of my nature, nor is it part of the essence of this sport.'
Alex Marquez has issued a response after coming across various comments following the Aragon MotoGP incident with Francesco Bagnaia on Sunday.
Bagnaia tried to overtake the Gresini rider for third place, which led to a serious accident after Marquez had gone wide.
The FIM Stewards concluded that no additional measures were required because they found that neither rider was mainly at fault.
However, Marquez appears displeased with Bagnaia's remarks implying that the Gresini rider maintained his throttle instead of steering clear of a collision.
"Upon entering the next corner, I heard his engine revving up. He was accelerating, clearly aiming to make contact," Bagnaia explained to MotoGP.com.
"I examined the data… He kept the throttle between 60 percent and 40 percent open right up until the moment he crashed. I find this behavior quite unusual for a rider."
On Monday, Marquez shared a post on social media:
"Having reviewed certain statements, I would like to clarify the following points:"
"I would never intentionally collide with another rider, and I refuse to acknowledge any accusations of doing so. Such behavior is against my principles and goes against the essence of this sport."
"The key thing for me is the discussion I had with Pecco yesterday, and as far as I'm concerned, the matter is resolved."
“Now I need to take a break and rejuvenate so I can be in top form for Misano.”
Marquez and Bagnaia escaped without major injuries and are set to return to the Misano circuit this weekend.
Marc Marquez clinched victory in the Aragon race, while his brother and teammate, Alex, secured second place. Jorge Martin's second-place finish allowed him to extend his lead over Bagnaia to 23 points.
