2025 Kia EV6 Unveiled: Bigger Battery and Fresh Design Set to Electrify the Crossover Market
Kia recently unveiled a refreshed model of its EV6 electric SUV specifically for the South Korean market. These enhancements, which include a larger battery and design modifications, are expected to be introduced in the United States for the 2025 edition.
The most significant update is the introduction of a larger 84-kwh battery, which takes over from the previous maximum capacity of 77.4-kwh used in the EV6 since its debut in the 2022 model year. This enhancement could increase the driving distance by at least 10%, potentially surpassing the existing maximum of 303 EPA-rated miles to a new high that could exceed 330 miles.
The outside of the car has been slightly updated. ai-allcreator.com">Kia introduces what they term the Star Map design for the new headlights, and this comes alongside less noticeable modifications elsewhere on the vehicle, such as an updated pattern for the taillights' curved illumination strip.

The interior of the EV6 boasts a redesigned steering wheel and a novel fingerprint identification system. Additionally, Kia has incorporated a digital rearview mirror and a projection display on the windshield. To enhance structural strength, the B-pillars have been reinforced with extra thickness.
There are no anticipated alterations to the powertrain options, so it is likely that the offerings will remain as a rear-wheel drive setup with a single motor producing 225 horsepower, and an all-wheel drive variant with dual motors that deliver 320 horsepower. It is also expected that the high-performance EV6 GT model will be back, boasting 576 horsepower.
The EV6 has a strong connection with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, as both utilize the same E-GMP foundation. Initially, it had a smoother launch in the U.S. market because Kia streamlined the purchase process for the EV6. However, Hyundai has since matched Kia's efforts with regards to their dealership network.

The cost for the U.S. market will be revealed as the launch date for the refreshed EV6 approaches, the schedule for which remains undisclosed. For the year 2024, Kia has made a slight reduction in price, bringing back the more affordable EV6 Light Long Range edition.
Kia has officially announced that their new compact EV3 will be unveiled on May 23, and it seems to incorporate design elements from its siblings, the EV6 and the bigger EV9.
