2025 Genesis GV60 Rolls Out New Base AWD Model, Minor Updates, and Slight Price Hike

The 2025 Genesis GV60 introduces a more affordable all-wheel-drive option

Genesis has unveiled slight updates and a small price hike for the GV60's third year available in the American market, as declared last week.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can now be accessed wirelessly, and there's a fresh Capri Blue color option for the exterior. Additionally, the all-wheel-drive versions offer a separate trim that features 19-inch wheels. These wheels used to come standard with the Advanced AWD variant, which now exclusively offers 20-inch wheels.

The upcoming 2025 model of the Genesis

The entry-level GV60 model, which features a single motor and rear-wheel drive and was launched for the year 2024, is still the most affordable option, starting at $53,700. This price tag includes the required $1,350 fee for delivery. It reflects an increase of $350 from the previous year's model.

For the 2025 model year, there's a fresh baseline option for the all-wheel-drive variant that comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, priced at $57,200. In contrast, the previous year's initial model was the Advanced AWD, which was priced at $61,900. The current Advanced AWD version, now featuring 20-inch wheels, is priced from $62,250. Additionally, the Performance AWD makes a comeback, with its base price set at $71,250.

The official EPA range estimates for the 2025 models are still awaited. However, looking at the previous year, the 225-horsepower, rear-wheel-drive version had the highest range for the GV60 lineup, achieving 294 miles on a 77-kWh battery. Genesis states that the all-wheel-drive versions have a marginally bigger battery at 77.4 kWh. In 2024, these models had varying ranges: 264 miles on 19-inch wheels, 248 miles on 20-inch wheels, and 235 miles for the Performance version.

The high-performing variant offers an impressive 429 horsepower, outshining the 314 horsepower available in the standard all-wheel-drive versions. However, it's set to be eclipsed by the upcoming market edition of the GV60 Magma prototype initially unveiled at the New York auto show this year. This forthcoming model, which made an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, marks the debut of an anticipated line of Magma high-performance vehicles. Despite this, Genesis has yet to announce any future plans for additional electric vehicle models.

In 2021, Genesis announced plans to exclusively launch vehicles powered by batteries or hydrogen fuel cells starting in 2025, aiming for a complete electric or fuel-cell vehicle portfolio by 2030. However, the car manufacturer is adjusting its strategy to include hybrids, responding to shifts in consumer preferences.
