The seven-time world champion is currently on hard tires and is trailing Perez by 0.396 seconds.
Verstappen clocks in at 1 minute 45.052 seconds, trailing Perez's leading time by 0.4 seconds. The Mexican driver has had an impressive beginning.
Leclerc mentions that there is a "bend" in his car and heads to the pit lane.
"I believe there is an issue with the car. The stiffness varies from the left side to the right, affecting the stability and feedback."
He pulls ahead of Verstappen by almost a full second, claiming the top spot on the timesheets.
Verstappen recorded a time of 1 minute and 45.563 seconds, placing him 0.3 seconds ahead of the competition.
Perez is currently having an excellent lap.
Leclerc posted a time of 1 minute and 45.812 seconds, putting him just under a tenth of a second in front of Sainz. Piastri secured the third position.
The weekend’s second practice session begins in Baku.
Following his accident during the first practice session, Ferrari has fixed Leclerc's vehicle, and he is now prepared to continue.

Verstappen, Hamilton, Perez, Norris, Sainz, Piastri, Alonso, Russell, Leclerc, and Ricciardo.
Verstappen leads the standings with a time of 1 minute and 45.546 seconds, finishing 0.3 seconds faster than Hamilton.
Verstappen and Perez continue to give it their all, so anticipate some shifts in the standings.
